I consult in the UK and all over Europe, generally, but not always on Selector-related issues as opposed to Music Policy. I am part of several development teams for RCS New York, for whom I author online help and training videos for five products at last count. Some of the new projects might have very powerful impacts on future radio developments.
I started at University Radio York 40 years ago, then worked for a year in the early 70s in the US at a (then) rock outfit called WPHD-FM. I did twenty years at the coalface at BRMB from the very beginning of UK commercial radio, and produced at the Beeb for five years for Radio 2 Overnights out of Pebble Mill. I’ve been involved in at least seven startups, and I passionately believe that local radio has a future – as long as it is local. I am also a huge fan of deep databases, good practise and brilliant radio people in general.
